Slow running suites

Hi CMS team,

Is Archer2 running as normal today? I recall we recently had some capacity days but nothing else comes to mind to explain why my runs have been slow since yesterday lunchtime. My coupled HadGEM3 suite usually does about a year and a half of simulations in 24 hours of wall time. But each run is currently doing 6 months in 24 hours. Wondering if this is local to me or something broader.

The file system has been slow for me. Possibly related to the maintenance that has been going on for the last 2 days?

Generally details get put here: Service Status

A2 is quite old - I doubt it’s just you. Perhaps note it to archer helpdesk if you’d like, but hopefully it gets sorted out.

Hi Penny,

I am not sure if you meant a slowdown in terms of queue time or run time. The maintenance earlier this week suggested longer queuing times. If jobs are running much slower than usual, then please do report to the Archer2 helpdesk: Service Desk . EPPC do not always realise there are issues unless we report them.

Sorry I should have said. By slow I mean sitting in the queue after the coupled task has finished. Once the run starts it behaves as expected. I will report it to the helpdesk as the problem is still occurring.
