Welcome to the CMS Modelling Support Forum.

Here you can raise all your modelling support queries (topics) covering Unified Model, NEMO, problems logging into supported platforms like ARCHER2, etc.

Before raising a query first search the forum to see if this issue has been raised before. If you have access to the Met Office Science Repository Service check their guide for [Known UM Failure Points](https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/um/wiki/KnownUMFailurePoints) and also [Tips on Running Climate Type Suites](https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/moci/wiki/tips_CRgeneral)

Also take a look at the [Docs](https://cms-helpdesk.ncas.ac.uk/docs) area of the helpdesk where you will find answers to many frequently asked questions.

To raise a new support query click the `New Topic` button.

Select the appropriate Category for the topic, e.g. _Unified Model_. If you’re not sure then leave the topic as _uncategorized_.

**Information to include in a ticket:**
Include as much information as is relevant, but especially:

- Be sure to include the id of the UM job/suite (eg xbcde, u-ax291).
- Cut and paste any error messages you have.
- Provide the full path to the log files containing the error.

If your query relates to Archer2, please make sure that your `/home` and `/work` spaces are visible to the CMS team. To do so run the following commands:

```
chmod -R g+rX /home/n02/n02/<your-username>
chmod -R g+rX /work/n02/n02/<your-username>
```
