I am currently exploring a few directions in running large ensemble simulations on ARCHER2, before it ends its service. I am considering to use UK Met Office’s experiment manageemnt infrastructure, as it’s similar to a Japanese operational weather service where I worked previously.
What I have done already:
Creating ARCHER2/PUMA2 accounts.
Asked a colleague for basic prerequisite to run an experiment, pulling setting from an already registered experiments through rosie.
While exploring the ARCHER2, and the existing services, I encountered a few problems.
That my disk quota is only 100Gb — can it be increased by up to a few Tb?
When I tried to ask for the assistance through helpdesk website, sign up failed and no confirmation mail sent. What can be an issue?
To register or look up the database of existing experiment setups using rosie from PUMA2, I seem like need an account on Met Office Science Repository. How can I create one? For your knowledge, my funding if from ExtAnt — an NERC funded project. Also, is there any manuals for rosie?
I’ve increased your ARCHER2 /work disk quota to 3TB.
That error message looks like a logging in one rather than a sign up one. Please try signing up for a helpdesk account again. The email you sent has created a staged account for you (so there is nothing wrong with the email address). When you sign up it will link this ticket to your account.
I will put a request for a MOSRS account in for you. It can take up to 2 weeks for that to come through and you will hear direct from the Met Office when it has been approved.
I see that my colleague has answered your rosie question.
