'Assigning' running suite to another user?

Hi,

I’m currently running HadGEM3-GC5 on PUMA2 and ARCHER2, running two suites (u-ea310 and u-dj675). A couple of times a week these suites stop due to issues that can usually be dealt with on PUMA2 e.g. by retriggering tasks.

I’ll be away from Aug 7th to Sep 10th; is there a way that another user (Alison McLaren) could also be given access on ARCHER2 and PUMA2 to ‘look after’ these suites while I’m away? Currently my ARCHER2 and PUMA2 permissions are set to be readable and executable for her, but she is not able to run cylc tui or associated commands for my suites in my workspaces.

Best wishes,

Rachel

Hi Rachel

This is possible in Cylc 8 but only if you are running in a Jupyter Hub environment. On PUMA2/ARCHER2 we don’t have this setup but it will be a good idea to set this up on any post-ARCHER2 hardware.

Couple of suggestions…

  1. Ask your colleague to ‘branch’ off your workflow by starting a new run starting from restart files produced by your run.
  2. Contact our sister forum exclusively for Cylc matters here. That said I don’t think they’ll be able to suggest anything else but maybe worth a try.

Cheers
