RosePopenError: rose: command not found

Hi, new user here (username: miclen) - I’ve just tried running my first suite and I’m getting the following error:

[FAIL] ssh -oBatchMode=yes -oStrictHostKeyChecking=no -oConnectTimeout=8 -n ln04 env\ ROSE_VERSION=2019.01.3\ CYLC_VERSION=7.8.12\ bash\ -l\ -c\ '"$0"\ "$@"'\ rose\ suite-run\ -vv\ -n\ u-dn892\ –run=run\ –remote=uuid=5a0931f1-d5e3-40a0-8c0b-7b72d5034414,now-str=20250313T162709Z,root-dir='$DATADIR' # return-code=127, stderr=
[FAIL] rose: rose: command not found

Do you know what this means / could you point me to any resources for how to resolve the issue?

Follow-up: is there a suite corresponding to the most recent version of the model you could point me to for a test run? Thanks!

Thanks! I went through these setup instructions on a similar page (1. Getting Set Up (Self-Study Instructions) — NCAS Unified Model Introduction), I believe they are the same? But I’ll follow the tutorial at the link above to run the suite there.

I followed the tutorial but am also getting an error running the tutorial suite –
Key Error: ‘suite.rc’

Hi Michelle,

Have you followed all the steps from the Tutorial setup linked above, including Setting up Archer2 environment ?
I am unable to see a .profile file (to be copied from /work/y07/shared/umshared/um-training area) in /home/n02/n02/miclen. This .profile contains all the settings needed to run rose/ cylc across Puma and ARCHER.
Similarly a .profile and .bashrc needs to be copied from ~um1/um-training/ on Puma2.

Please follow all the steps listed on the Tutorial setup page , including the passwordless ssh. and try again.

Best wishes
Mohit
