Updating the JULES source code of a suite u-knr47 from vn7.0 to vn7.6

Hi,

I am trying to update the source code of a suite u-knr47 which currently uses the jules vn7.0 to vn7.6. The jules vn7.0 has additional code over the official release to implement the p-model. As a latest version of the jules is available, we want to port the code in the new vn7.6. Is there a way to do this?

Currently I’m trying to use the steps mentioned in https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/jules/wiki/JULESWithRose.

This is what I receive when I run the app-upgrade command:

““(base) [naren047@cylc2 ~]$ rose app-upgrade -M jules_src/vn7.0copy1_c4/rose-meta -C ~/roses/u-knr47/app/jules/ --all-versions

= vn7.0““

Does this mean there is no upgrade possible for this suite or version??

Please help in updating the source code.

Thanks and kind regards

Narender

I think that you are using a local source for your suite, so there is nothing stopping you checking out a more recent version and modifying it if you wish.

The app upgrades would be useful up to a point, if the JULES team keeps them up to date (and I don’t know if they do or don’t), but you can update namelists and find appropriate data by hand as an alternative. It can be a bit of an effort but if you compare the rose stem examples for the versions of interest that may also help.
