Email Notifications for failed tasks through Cylc

Dear CMS Helpdesk,

Could you explain how to set up email notifications for failed or sumit-failed tasks in cylc? I’m running suites through PUMA on ARCHER2 with cylc 7.8.12.

As an aside, is it recommended to update to cylc 8 and how would that work on PUMA?

email notifications don’t work from puma2.

We do recommend updating to cylc 8, see Upgrading to Cylc 8

Thank you. Can I ask why email notifications don’t work from puma2? Are there plans to add that in a future update? I think it would be a very useful feature.

There is no email server accessible from ARCHER2/PUMA2.
