ANTS/umshared on JASMIN

Hi,

I’ve previously been able to run ANTS on Jasmin, using the data from /gws/nopw/j04/umshared (without having GWS access). However, now it has migrated to /gws/ssde/j25b/umshared I’m getting permission denied. Do I need to request GWS access to continue to use ANTS?

There is maintenance happening today on JASMIN. Has this only been affecting you today?

No, this was happening yesterday as well. But I will keep an eye on the updates and check again once maintenance is finished

OK good to know thanks Emma.

I did check my JASMIN account and I was not a member of umshared so it is possible (I don’t know for sure) that there is a new permissions structure. I’ve requested access now anyway.

Just to confirm that without umshared GWS access I get the same error as you @emrobi…

-bash: cd: /gws/ssde/j25b/umshared: Permission denied

Hi Emma,

Sorry, yes this is because of the migration of the GWS. I’ll ask JASMIN to sort out the permissions as we had them before. It is possible we might need to move to a model where you will need to request GWS access, but before we could do that JASMIN would need to configure default user permissions as this GWS is used in a different way to normal. We’ll let you know if that becomes necessary.
